BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Felipe Aramendía Lezaeta nació en Estella el 11 de abril de 1866. En 1876 Aramendía fue matriculado en el Colegio “Huarte Hermanos” de Pamplona, donde comenzó con sus estudios de solfeo con el maestro Gainza y violín con Estanislao Luna. A la edad de 14 años entró a formar parte de la Orquesta de la Sociedad de Conciertos “Santa Cecilia” dirigida en ese momento por Joaquín Maya. En 1885 ingresó en el Real Conservatorio de Música y Declamación de Madrid, donde estudió con los profesores Tomás Lostan y González, Jesús de Monasterio y Enrique Fernández Arbós. En ese mismo centro cursó también estudios de armonía y composición.
En junio de 1896 el Ayuntamiento de Pamplona convocó a oposición varias plazas de profesor para la Academia Municipal de Música, donde Aramendia obtuvo una plaza meritoria de profesor de violín.
Previa oposición, Felipe Aramendía accedió al puesto de primer violín de la Sociedad de Conciertos “Santa Cecilia”, donde ejerció como concertino de la orquesta desde 1904, hasta la fecha de su fallecimiento. Colaboró con otras agrupaciones como la Orquesta del Teatro Principal de Pamplona o la Compañía de Zarzuela de Maximino Fernández en Logroño.
Recibió una propuesta por parte del propietario del Café Marina para actuar en el local junto al pianista Joaquín López de Zubiría. Con el objetivo de interpretar obras de mayor interés musical, Aramendía creó un cuarteto formado por Joaquín López de Zubiría, piano; Felipe Aramendía, violín primero; Serafín Las Navas, violín segundo, y Vicente Azoz, violonchelo. José Goicoechea acabó sustituyendo a Las Navas y se añadió un quinto miembro a la agrupación, Leandro Sánchez al contrabajo, formando así el Quinteto Aramendía. Muchos otros músicos navarros acabaron actuando con el quinteto como Santos Laspiur, Valentín Larrea o José María Ruiz. El cuarteto actuó durante dos años en el Café Marina y a partir de 1900 participaron en los conciertos celebrados en el Círculo Mercantil e Industrial y en San Sebastián en el Hotel Continental.
Felipe Aramendía Lezaeta murió en Pamplona el 22 de octubre de 1942 a la edad de 76 años.

CONTENTS
El fondo se compone de arreglos y partituras editadas de la biblioteca musical complementaria de Felipe Aramendía. Incluye un amplio repertorio para piano, música de cámara, música escénica y música de salón.
ORGANISATION
Las partituras manuscritas se han inventariado de forma somera y se han reinstalado en cajas nuevas de formato normalizado.

- Graphics, maps and designs relating to topography, geography and science in general.
- Photographic works and other procedures that are similar to photography.
- Computer software.
2. The title of a work will be protected as part of the work, provided that it is original.
Article 37. Reproduction, lending and consultation of works through specialised terminals in certain establishments.
1. Copyright holders cannot object to the reproduction of works, when this is a not-for-profit activity by museums, libraries, record libraries, film libraries, newspaper libraries, publicly-owned archives or archives that are part of cultural or scientific institutions and provided that the reproduction is solely made for research or conservation purposes.
2. Likewise, museums, archives, libraries, newspaper libraries, record libraries and film libraries that are either publicly owned or are part of not-for-profit organisations of general cultural, scientific or educational interest integrated in the Spanish educational system, shall not require the authorisation of the copyright holders for any loans made.
