Pedro Iturralde Ochoa
Pedro Iturralde nació en Falces el 13 de julio de 1929. Fue saxofonista, clarinetista y compositor.
Profesor del Conservatorio de Madrid y colaborador, como solista, con la Orquesta Sinfónica de la RTVE, recibió en 1992 el premio a la Creación Musical, Literaria y Plástica de la Comunidad de Madrid. Ha alternado a lo largo de su vida las tareas pedagógicas con la interpretación del jazz, su gran pasión. Junto con el pianista Tete Montoliu, es una de las grandes figuras del jazz español de todos los tiempos.
Comenzó a estudiar clarinete y saxofón a los 9 años de edad, y a los 11 ya tocaba en una banda local cuyo director, amante del jazz, le aficionó pronto a esta música. En 1948 realizó su primera gira fuera de España. A su vuelta estudió la carrera de saxofón, que concluyó en tan sólo un año, al tiempo que visitaba algunos países como Francia, Italia, Turquía, Grecia y Líbano. Invirtió en esa gira siete años de su vida, y a mediados de los años sesenta se instaló en Madrid. Tocó de forma habitual en el combo de jazz del Whisky Jazz Club, junto a algunos músicos fijos en ese club como Joe Moro, Juan Carlos Calderón, Regolí, Vlady Bas o Santiago Pérez. En este club mítico tuvo la oportunidad de tocar también con Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz, Donald Byrd, Hampton Hawes o el genial Tete Montoliu. Con Tete, además, estuvo de gira por el norte de España (País Vasco y Cataluña).
En 1967 grabó con Hispavox un disco mítico, titulado Jazz Flamenco (vols. I y II), donde colaboró un joven guitarrista llamado Paco de Algeciras, seudónimo de Paco de Lucía. El disco fue un aldabonazo en la música jazz internacional, pues mezclaba de manera clara -y no somera, como había hecho antes Miles Davis- jazz y flamenco en estado puro. En el mismo año, el crítico alemán Joaquim E. Berendt le hizo grabar para el sello alemán MPS un disco similar, titulado también Jazz Flamenco. Además, fue incluido en el Festival de Jazz de Berlín, donde también se dieron cita algunas estrellas del momento, como Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Sarah Vaughan o Baden Powell. Ésta fue la época en la que actuó en el Play-House Theatre de Londres y en el Palau de Barcelona, con la All Star Big Band, patrocinada por la Unión Europea de Radio.
Fallece en Madrid, el 1 de noviembre de 2020, a los 91 años de edad.

El fondo ingresó en el Archivo General de Navarra por donación en marzo de 2019. A esta documentación se añadieron copias digitales de partituras que abarcan el conjunto de su producción musical.
El fondo consta de artículos de prensa, correspondencia, programas de mano, fotografías, fonogramas y las copias transcritas de su obra como compositor.

Likewise, museums, archives, libraries, newspaper libraries, record libraries and film libraries that are either publicly owned or are part of not-for-profit organisations of general cultural, scientific or educational interest integrated in the Spanish educational system, shall not require the authorisation of the copyright holders for any loans made.

Furthermore, due to the uniqueness of the documents in the fond, consultation and reproduction will be determined by Constitutional Law 1/1982 of 5 May on the Protection of the Civil Right of Honour, Personal and Family Privacy and Self-image.
Article Four.
One. The exercise of the actions relating to the civil protection of the right to Honour, Privacy and Self-image of a deceased person corresponds to the person appointed for this purpose in the will. A legal person may be appointed for this purpose.
Two. Should there be no appointment or if the person named is deceased, then the spouse, descendants, ascendants and siblings of the person affected and who were living at the time of his/her death, shall have the right to seek protection.
Three. In the absence of all of these, the exercise of protection actions shall correspond to the Public Prosecutor, who may act ex-officio at the request of the person in question, provided that no more than eighty years have elapsed since the death of the person concerned. The same period of time shall be observed when the exercise of the aforementioned actions corresponds to a legal person appointed in the will.
Four. In the event of unlawful interference in the rights of the victims of a crime, as referred to in section eight of article seven, the party injured or offended by the offence committed shall have the right to exercise the protection actions, regardless of whether or not the said party brought the criminal or civil action in the preceding criminal proceedings. In any event, the Public Prosecutor will also be entitled to do so. In the event of death, the parties shall abide by the provisions of the sections above. (…)
Article seven.
The following shall be considered unlawful interference in the area of protection delimited in article two of this Law:

Three. The disclosure of facts relating to the private life of a person or family that affect its reputation and good name, as well as the disclosure or publication or the contents of letters, memoirs or other personal writing of an intimate nature.
Four. The disclosure of private details about a person or family, obtained through the professional or official activity of the person disclosing them. (…)
Seven. The accusation of deeds or showing value judgements through actions or expressions that, in any way, harm the dignity of the other person, by undermining his/her reputation or attacking his/her self esteem. (…)
Article eight.
One. In general, actions that are authorised or agreed by the competent Authority in accordance with the Law shall not be considered to be unlawful interference, or when a relevant historical, scientific or cultural interest is predominant.
