¿Qué hace desnudo en la Cruz?

Coral de Cámara de Pamplona / Iruñeko Ganbara Abesbatza

Born in Eibar, Guipúzcoa, Andrés de Escaregui developed his entire musical career in Navarre. He entered the cathedral of Pamplona as a choirboy and, in 1738, became a chapel teacher. He gained recognition in his time, demonstrated by the presence of some of his works in the Escorial monastery, which was closely linked to the Spanish monarchy, and in Mexican cathedrals such as that of Guadalupe. His musical style oscillates between the baroque and gallant styles. The counterpoint style and musical description of ¿Qué hace desnudo en la Cruz? is associated rather with the former.
